THE BRIEF
Vintage Roots was a company started by a couple of guys with bags of commitment and enthusiasm which turned into the leading organic wine company in the UK. When they realised their branding needed to reflect their success, they turned to Thinking Juice.
Creating a new logo, website design etc, is relatively straightforward but, as the recession was beginning to bite, we all knew that a more complete business strategy was required.
THE WORK - IDENTITY, PRESS, DIGITAL, DIRECT AND BRAND STRATEGY
Organic products, especially wine and chocolate, are discretionary bordering on luxury purchases so we had to find ways to ensure that Vintage Roots maintained their leading position. A simpler, idea-driven logo was the first job and we quickly incorporated it into a new, eCommerce website which is designed to maximise sales and repeat visits. The design of the site and the friendly, helpful copy project the genuine personality of the brand and the founders Lance and Neil.
All the direct marketing items and sales promotional tools are equally cheerful and informative, like a good friend who is offering sound advice about which wine to buy.
THE RESULT(S)
In the wine market 2009 won’t be seen as a bumper year financially. But there have been some very significant successes for Vintage Roots. Most notably, sales figures were maintained year-on-year (considered the equivalent of an upturn in such a depressed market). Also, the new identity has been warmly welcomed, SEO performance has been improved with the new website securing numerous page one rankings within Google.
